North Bank Banter
"... The behaviour of some of our followers at the President's Cup final let the club down again. What is this obsession with our neighbours that makes people chant 'We beat the scum 5-0'? Haven't they learned anything from the fracas on Easter Monday and just how easily so-called banter can get out of hand?"
"... We have no need to cast envious glances across to any other club. Be proud of what we have and take defeat and victory with equal good grace."

So, the club was let down again. I don't recall a first time, but hey, that's just semantics.
It is all too convenient to blame the incident that happened on Easter Monday as being driven by banter (and by association, rhetoric and implication, this website), but that incident was nothing at all to do with fans, banter or dubious chants and songs. It was a group of people who came with the express purpose of causing trouble.
For the umpteenth time, it looks like I am going to have to say it again. By all means report the mindless few who chanted and booed when the cup was being presented, but can we give the whole story please. No mention of the masturbatory signs, or flicking the 'V's or the bird - incitement, in other words - from the victorious and evidently unmagnanimous victors on the night. Let us have the whole truth.
