North Bank Banter approached right-back "Super" Jonny Burgess for an interview. Being the good sport he is, he agreed to be grilled on your behalf.
NBB: Some of us already know, but what do you do for a living?
Jonny: I'm the Gym Manager at Dragon's Health Club (Bedford Street, Leamington). I also do some personal training and teach group fitness classes: "BodyPump" (a class with weights); and "BodyCombat" (a boxing/martial arts exercise class).
What other sports do you play apart from football? And are you any good at them?
I play tennis, which I am alright at, although not as good as Tim Henman.
Apart from sport, do you have any other hobbies or interests?
I like watching films at the cinema or on DVD. I also enjoy reading autobiographies of current or former footballers. I've just finished reading Geoff Hurst's "1966 And All That". I also train regularly down the gym.
Were you academic at school, or could you not wait to leave? What subjects did you excel or do miserably at?
I enjoyed school (mainly the social side). Apart from doing well in Physical Education. I was steady at all other subjects (boring, I know). However, English was one of my weaker subjects.
You're probably the smallest player ever to play for Leamington...
I'm sure that's not true!
How tall are you? Do you consider your height an advantage or disadvantage?
I'm 5'5'', honest! I think it's very much an advantage as I can bite at their ankles and run through the oppositions' legs.
What do you think are your biggest plus points as a player?
My passion and commitment. I also have a strong will to win. Also, my overall fitness levels.
... and as a person?
My passion and commitment for life!
What do friends, family or team-mates say is your most annoying or disgusting habit?
I think if you asked Natasha, I'm sure she would say my snoring.
What's your domestic situation?
I'm getting married in January 2004 to my fiancée, Natasha. We've been together for eight years. We met at school and have lived together for 1½ years.
Who has been the biggest influence on your life (so far)?
I would have to say my mother. She has given me confidence and self-belief. She has always supported and encouraged me in everything I have done.
Who do you most admire at LFC, and why?
Mick Brady and David Hucker - without them, Leamington FC would still be a memory; everybody who makes matchdays possible; and the supporters - without you we wouldn't have the ground that we have and playing certainly wouldn't be as enjoyable.
You're at a dinner party, and you have with you the three most objectionable celebrities imaginable. Who are those three dinner companions from hell?
David Pleat - the worst assistant commentator around... Tim from Big Brother - two-faced and arrogant... I can't think of a third.
